This isn't quite 10 years ago, more like 9.5. This was the start of my sophomore year in high school.
I also thought what I was doing five years ago. Nick and I were dating, and probably talking about getting married. The boy took forever. We spent New Years Eve in my basement with my mom, Jake and Brittany (our next door neighbors). We were boring. I had just finished up a semester of school, and was working for a pediatrician. I was still best friends with my sisters, and I think they were with me as well. We did everything together. My parents had just gotten divorced, so we were adjusting to life without dad in the house.
This is New Years Eve 5 years ago.
I can't believe all that has happened in the last ten years. I still feel like I should be that 14 year old girl instead of a 24 mom of two, but I wouldn't trade my life for anything. Here are some of my resolutions for the year.
Be more patient with Sydney and do fun uplifting things with her. I also want to take her to do a fun big activity once a month.
Study the scriptures more. I want my understanding of the gospel to increase. Old Testament this year in Sunday School is going to be a challenge, but I'm making a goal to read each lesson the week before so I'm prepared.
Create and stick to a budget. We'll be doing that as a family so that we know what our finances are doing at all times.
Start working on emergency preparedness, and family history. I need to get on the ball big time for this one.
Scrapbook, craft, and read more.
There are a million more that I could think of, but those are some of the bigger ones that take more priority in my life. I am so excited to start a new year. It sort of makes me feel like a new fresh clean slate to begin again. I hope all of you have a wonderful New Year and make the most of it. I know I'm going to.

Great resolutions. I also love the picture from ten years ago. You look like a little scrawny thing. You do not look old enough to be having a crush one anyone. Man the time flys. Happy New Year. Love ya.
Good job! I haven't even written mine down yet! So good job girl! XOXO to the kids....
Thanks for the memories Laurel. I thought 5 years ago was a fun not boring New Years Eve.
Laurel!
I just saw your comment on my blog about coming to AZ to visit! Please really do come!! It would be so fun. Are you loving your new house? By the way, I just cannot believe how grown up Sydney is... AND ADORABLE! You're going to have your hands full with that one.
Holly's right, you did look like a scrawny thing in the picture. I remember when you guys were dating too, the days of Gustav the houseboy. Glad you two finally got together! Love you all
Good resolutions, I love the 14 year old picture! and I love your house, it is very cute!
Oh my gosh! That picture takes me back to the good old days! Watching soaps in the basement, making up crazy songs and dances, breaking your window (whoops!)... the list goes on! Hope 2010 is a great one for you and your family!
