The Love of My Life

Well since Laurel is always talking behind my back on this thing, I have a thing or two to say about her little post about me (Nick). She gives me way too much credit. I love my life. Working, studying, playing with Sydney, chilling out with Laurel, cooking, cleaning, taking care of the baby, running errands, etc: This is my life and I love it. I do all of these things for her, with her and because of her. She has given me all of these things and I love every minute of all of it because of her. Without her I wouldn't have any of these things in my life. She is my enitre world and my life. I love my life. She has been more than supportive and willing to, in a way, allow her life to be diverted while I pursue my career as crazy as it has been. She is so selfless and it has been difficult, I realize it, but she does it well, and I couln't love her more. Texas is far from home for both of us, but as long as I get to live my life with her, that is all that matters to me. I couldn't ask for more. I love my life and everything that she has given me, but I love Laurel more. P.S. Sydney puts herself down to bed now. A blanket a cup of milk and a kiss is all she needs. 4 nights in a row!!!

Hide and Seek

Okay, so I'm sitting in our living room today and Sydney is being extremely quiet, so I search the house for her and this is what I find. This isn't the first time I have found her here, but it doesn't get any less funny or cute to me. She has turned into a little mischevious devil. It's always exciting to see what a new day will bring in our lives. She is always into something new and trying something more scary or different. So wish me luck and hope that our days get a little less crazy.

Sydney's Been Tagged

Sydney was tagged by Brooke Constantine. This is so adorable. Here are eight things you need to know about Sydney.

1: Sydney's favorite thing to do is dance. She will stand up in front of the tv (because we turn on the music stations) and yell "dance, dance!" It is so funny to watch her dance because she will run around in circles and do little skips around the living room. It makes for hours of entertainment.

2: Sydney loves to play with Sophi and Gabe. They are her best friends in the world. Whenever she thinks we are going somewhere, she will run to the door as for her shoes and yell, "Gabe!!!" It is so funny. They are so cute when they play together.

3: Sydney hates nursery. We can't get her to go without mommy and daddy. When we get out of sacrament meeting and start making the walk to nursery from about 20 yards away she realizes where we are going and will start screaming. It's funny, but someday I'm hoping that I can go to Relief Society again. We'll see.

4: Sydney loves to help me clean the house. So much so that we bought her a little vacuum and broom. Whenever I get the broom out to sweep she will run into her room, grab hers and run into the kitchen and help me sweep, while singing clean up clean up. Only it comes out, "mean up, mean up." So so cute.

5: Sydney and Nick are the best buddies. When Nick gets home from work, she will run to the door and meet him and yell daddy! They play so fun together and Sydney loves it when Nick throws her up into the air. Even after the time he dropped her! Sorry Nick had to tell people. She comes to me for the comfort and Nick for the hardcore play.

6: Sydney loves to pray. Whenever we sit down to eat she will fold her arms, close her eyes and say, "amen." She is such a great reminder to us to always say our prayers. It is so cute.

7: Sydneys loves sporting events. We've taken her to athletic events from the day she was born. When she was 1 week old we took her to her first UND football game. When she was 5 weeks old she went to a UND Hockey game, and so on. Well Nick took her to the Utah Jazz vs. Houston Rockets game the other night. She loved it. She cheered the whole time and yelled, "Go Jazz, Go Jazz!" Hopefully she likes dancing as much as she likes sports.

8: Last but not least Sydney loves her grandmas and grandpas that are so far away right now. Now, every older person that she sees anywhere is gampa and meema, and nanny. It is so funny.

Now Sydney would like to tag Luke, Gabe/Sophi, and Macey.

Wonderful Nick

I just wanted to post a little diddy about how thankful I am to my wonderful husband. It has been a very busy week for me. I was at the studio everyday this week, and wouldn't have gotten through this week without Nick. I don't think I let him know enough how thankful I am for him. He is the best husband ever. Every night this week he has cooked me dinner, bathed the baby, cleaned the house, and so on. Thanks Nick for doing all you do, especially when I come home and yell at you and you still do things for me without complaining. Another thing I am thankful for is the fact that tonight Sydney finally put herself to sleep!!! It was amazing. I was finally fed up enough with her throwing her binkie at me and the floor that I kissed her goodnight, tucked her into her bed next to the bunny my mom gave me when I was little and shut the door. She cried for a little while and then was silent. I can't believe it. I am so excited that maybe this is a new phase in her little life.

We Love Our Weather

So even though the water is freezing, the weather has been so wonderful we haven't been able to resist going to the pool and hanging out. These are some cute pictures of the babes in their swimming suits. So cute don't you think?

Movie Night

Well in response to Donny and Carli's post we have a few of our own pictures of the three peas in a pod. They really do play so well together and they do love each other. Sophi is the big sister to Sydney too and it is so cute to see them play together. Gabe and Sydney are so funny together too. In fact just this afternoon he gave her a pat on the bum. It was funny. They are so different. Gabe is calm and cool and Sydney is high strung and silly. It would take a boy like Gabe to handle Sydney. If you can't tell we have already planned their wedding. Well enjoy the pictures of our movie night when Nick was babysitting. They were so cute.

On a Happy Note...Not

These are a couple of pictures of the new things that Sydney is able to do. Wow, what a fit. She freaked out because I wanted her to say cheese to the camera. Oh the drama of an almost two year old girl. What joy I have to look forward to in a few months when she really is terrible. Oh yeah I meant two.

What is Nick Doing?

Well I figured that it was about time that all of you got a glimpse of what Nick is doing while we are out here. For the past 2 months he has been memorizing maps that make up the airspace that he will be controlling. It is four maps, that are...well confusing. He could explain it so much better so if any of you are interested in learning call us and he can explain it to you better. But make time because it will take about three hours to cover even part of it. Anyway, I can explain part of it. The four maps are different altitudes and he has to know them like the back of his hand. To pass the tests he has to draw these maps from a blank page, so it's pretty difficult. They got about two-three weeks to study each map. Lets just say he is tired of drawing lines, triangles, and circles. I hope you enjoy looking at these and good luck making any of it out because I live with the man and I don't understand anything. Love you all have a good week.
