Lately

We haven't been up to much lately.  The holidays drained us and we have been spending our first part of the year relaxing.  The weather has been crazy lately.  One day it's freezing and the next day we are in shorts and flip flops getting sunburned.  Today was one of those days.  Nick has Fridays off so we spent the day playing with the kids.  The day started off with a family run around our neighborhood.  Then we took Sydney to her playschool group.  We went to lunch as a family, where we narrowly escaped a car accident in the parking lot.  We ate, then went to a park to play and fly kites.  Sydney was so excited to fly a kite and then when we got it up in the air she started to panic thinking the planes were going to "pop the kite".  So needless to say we had a short go of kite flying.  It was a great day.  We are all tired and a little more rosy, but it was a fun day with the family.

Update on the kids:
Sydney is growing, growing, growing.  She is loving preschool and gymnastics.  She is learning so much at school, and her teachers are lovely.  I love sending her to preschool where I know she'll be loved and taken care of.  She is too excited about starting kindergarten in the fall, and I am having a hard time coming to terms with that because she is getting too grown up.  What happened to my little baby?  She is learning a lot in gymnastics.  She was moved to a more challenging class a couple of months ago.  She is definitely being challenged.  Her coaches don't put up with a lot of guff and it's sometimes hard to watch my little doll face get pushed so hard.  But, she loves it and until she says otherwise we will keep going.  She has started throwing some pretty nasty fits and I'm not sure how to handle that.  So we're trying some different things, to try and get them under control, but I'm lacking some faith in my punishment.

Sawyer is 19 1/2 months old and is such a cute little man. He is running all over the place. He is talking up a storm. Some of his favorites are, mommy, daddy, nene (sydney), gabe, supi (sophi), ca'ee (carli), icee (izzie and lucy), sucker, canny (candy), gum, basetbolll (basketball), dumpoine (trampoline), bumpa (grandpa/grandma), nanny (granny), ado (water), fumball (football), car, apoom (airplane), tractor, ipod, bye bye, night night. That's about all I can think of. He jabbers in his foreign lanuage and it's so cute. He jumps, climbs, chases monsters, wrestles with sydney, dances, sings in Sydney's microphones, plays basketball and t-ball, throws monster fits, farmer blows (thanks nick), and loves us. He weighs 22 lbs (5 %) and is 31 inches tall (10 %). He doesn't eat much, but he's still growing.

I love Sydney catching Sawyer at the end of the slide. So cute. I love the flying cape pictures, I bet they had a blast. Sawyer looks so much like Nick. My only concern is, what the heck is a farmer blow? I am afraid to google it.

Sarah, you live in Delta, if you are afraid to google it you could ask a farmer! :)

Heck no! Because it might be something they ask me to 'do'. I sincerely apologize for my comment. Tell me Laurel to avoid any more of my inappropriate comments!

wasn't inappropriate. I laughed. It's blowing your nose with no tissue onto the ground. it's disgusting.

Oh....well I have only ever heard it called by the descriptive term "Snot Rocket". Thank you for the clarification.
