What the ???

Okay so I had dance banquets all weekend. But that is another story dealing with lots of chicken and rice. I was driving home from one to rest for a minute before I had to back to another one. It was raining, not just raining but pouring the hardest I have ever seen even more so that Ike. I was driving down one of the two roads that gets you into Kingwood. That is another story though, don't even get me started on how much I hate this fact about Kingwood. Anyway, I'm babbling. I'm driving on Kingwood Dr and much of it is flooded. It's pretty high, but nothing to get me too worried yet. I get to a stop light and see a car getting towed in front of me so I call Nick and ask him what he thinks I should do, he says just see what cars in front of me are doing. So I proceed to pull through the intersection and am still dry. Well when I get to the next stop light I push on my brakes, that nearly don't grab, and then that is when it happens. Water starts coming in. There were about three inches just gathering around my feet. I start freaking out and yelling at Nick and saying how ridiculous this is and yada yada. I get home and Nick comes to the rescue. We let it sit overnight, I know gross, but it was late and still raining. So today after church Nick gets to work. He bought a shop vac last night and took that out to the car. Well twelve gallons of water later, and tearing up all the carpet and taking out the seats. He got all the water out. Now we'll see if he can get it back together after everything dries out. Here are some pictures. Let me just say there is a lot more water than it looks like. We know we'll laugh about it some day, but not today.

That is scary! Before you knew it you could have been one of those people standing on top of your car, waving at the helicopter to pick you up. Yikes!
