Settling in

Well this week has been another busy one. I worked every day again, and did a lot during the day. I think we are finally settling in and getting to know the place. I actually went somewhere without mapquesting it and found my way home too. Being here that is a pretty big accomplishment. I went to my first dance competition as an instructor at Stacey's, and the girls I teach did so well. We have been cleaning the two routines that I'm in charge of like crazy and it paid off. They looked really good and I think they realized that their hard work produced some exciting results. I love teaching. It is such a rewarding thing for me. I enjoy helping these girls have the desire to practice and watch them see how their hard work pays off in competitions. Ballet is a different story. I have some girls that struggle with motivation, but I'm working on making it a little more fun for them. So any of you dancers out there if you have any suggestions I am open to all. Other than that this week has been pretty normal. Sydney is into everything. She climbs on everything, empties everything, and imagine this, never cleans it up. Nick is slowly losing his mind studying maps, but still loves the fact that he has a career. We have to speak in church next week, so we are preparing talks amidst our busy days. I feel bad for our fellow ward members. Sydney won't go to nursery without mommy or daddy so we alternate hours so that we can get something out of church. Well this is a lame post, but that is our lives here in Houston. We love it here. The weather is great. It's wonderful to be settled. Love you all!

Competition? Wow!!! They really threw you into the mix fast:) You are a busy girl. I'm sure you are just loving it. Does Nick watch Sydney when you go to work? How is his schedule so far? And Ballet? How do you motivate yourself? hehe... that was my worst su bject to be motivated in:( I was one of those girls that just went because it was required, but I watched the clock closely, anticipating JAZZ:)

Of Syd! I love that she keeps you on your toes. What a sweetie! I miss here. Give her a big squeeze for me.

We are so happy that things are going well in Houston, and we love your updates, keep them coming! Love ya:)

Laurel -- I didn't realize you were teaching dance. When I was taking dance at performing arts school I had really great teachers and I enjoyed working really hard and seeing the results. I remember my ballet teacher was doing some one on one with me and she grabbed my leg and foot to show me my turn-out. She totally jumped back and was like "You have one of the best turn outs I've ever seen!" I remember that really motivating me and getting me really excited to work on my skills. I'm not a professional by any stretch of the word -- but her encouragement and accolades meant a lot. I know that Ballet is really important for building strength and is really the key to all other dance. Technique!!! Good Luck!
